Volunteering with GLSEN Upstate New York

We are thrilled to know that you are interested in becoming a volunteer with GLSEN Upstate New York and joining our efforts to create safe and affirming schools for all, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, and/or gender expression!

Requirements for Becoming a Volunteer

Non-Student Volunteers must be 23 years and older to sign-up and live within the GLSEN Upstate New York Regions. All volunteers must complete a Volunteer Orientation and a Criminal Background Check through GLSEN National before we can connect you with any of our volunteer opportunities.

What Volunteer Opportunities Do I Have?

We have volunteer opportunities in many different areas, including but not limited to professional development, public policy/advocacy, volunteering to work at events, and fundraising. We hold volunteer training several times a year to inform possible volunteers about the committees that we have, the work that we do, and the full process of becoming a volunteer.
